Charter Application Amendments:
Movement Schools: Requested all schools in their network add a CMO to their charter applications. This was approved unanimously.
Socrates Academy: Requested to amend their mission statement. This was approved by a vote of 9:1
Uwharrie Charter: Requested to amend their mission statement. This was approved unanimously.
Willow Oak Montessori: Requested to amend their mission statement. This was approved unanimously.
CSRB considered 2 Remote Charter Amendment Requests:
ArtSpace SPARK: Approved unanimously.
Wilson Prep: Approved unanimously.

CSRB Member Update: Mr. Bruce Friend introduced 2 new members - Mrs. Lindalyn Kakadelis and Mr. Jeremy Wall. Mr. Steven Walker conducted the swearing in ceremony for our new members.
ZECA and Next Generation provided updates to the renewal stipulations placed upon them by the State Board of Education and/or CSRB in 2023.
Ms. Nicky Niewinski, OCS Asst. Director, shared information related to the School Improvement workflow. The following LP/CLP schools presented CSRB with their efforts to improve student achievement: Oak Hill, Arapahoe Charter, and PreEminent.
Ms. Melanie Rackley, OCS Consultant, began the charter application review and discussion. Any revisions will become part of the Charter Application in January 2026. Please see Eboard for instructions if you wish to provide feedback for consideration.
Ms. Ashley Baquero, OCS Executive Director, provided OCS updates including an introduction of our newest consultant, Tara Whitbread. She also highlighted the great work of our 8 consultants who assist and support over 200 charter schools throughout the state.
Dr. Natasha Norins, OCS Consultant, updated CSRB on enrollment updates for current RTO schools.
